Reports said 10 taxis were waiting in line for inspection at the Department of Land Transport in Chatuchak district of Bangkok. Explosions were heard coming from the engine of a blue taxi, which then erupted in flames.

Transport department officials tried unsuccessfully to put out the flames using a fire extinguisher. They  then pushed the burning taxi into an open area, where the flames consumed the whole car.

Other taxi drivers fled the scene. There were no injuries reported.
