Snow and a one-horse open sleigh may never make it to the Northeast, but the Christmas spirit knows no boundaries. In Nakhon Ratchasima, clothes stores have reported a 20% surge in sales in the past few days as parents shopped for Santa Claus and other Christmas outfits for their children's school fairs. Many stores have sold more than 50 items _ the red-and-white Father Christmas costume and blue angel dresses are most popular _ and have made more than 10,000 baht in revenue each day.
The Northeast's biggest province, Nakhon Ratchasima has seen a number of schools, companies, and government offices throwing Christmas parties.
According to a vendor in the market, after today, the demand for Christmas costumes will be replaced by traditional Thai outfits to celebrate the New Year.
