Supat likely to face murder rap

PHETCHABURI - Police on Monday submitted a report to prosecutors seeking the indictment of former Police General Hospital doctor Supat Laohawattana for the premeditated murder of a Myanmar worker.

Investigators led by Phetchaburi police deputy chief Pol Col Somdech Thitawattanasakul recommended Pol Col Supat be prosecuted for the death of a Myanmar worker named Ita.

Ita's remains were found buried in Pol Col Supat's orchard in September while police were looking for Samart Noomjui and his wife, Orasa Kerdsap, who have been missing since 2009.

The police also sought indictments against Pol Col Supat's sons, Ake and Akara, for premeditated murder.

The doctor was charged last week with human trafficking and illegal possession of firearms.
