Bangkokians 'rather pray than party'

A poll by Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University on how people prefer to celebrate the New Year has concluded that a majority would rather pray than party.

The Bansomdej Pollsters reported that 57.3% of the 1,124 people surveyed in Bangkok area said they will pray overnight at a temple as part of the New Year's celebration, while 32% said they will go toone of the countdown at different hotspots, and 10.7% said they will celebrate at home.

And, 70.8% of the people polled said they will send New Year greetings through Facebook social media website, while 9.6% will use SMS/MMS services and 7.4% will send New Year greeting cards.

Asked where they will celebrate the New Year, 64.3% said they prefer Bangkok, but 35.7% said they will bring in 2013 holidaying in other provinces or overseas.
