The taxi stolen by a man who attacked, stabbed and then drove over a woman cabbie has been found abandoned in Bang Khae district of Bangkok.
Police said the taxi was discovered abandoned in Soi Petchkasem 74.
The vehicle was heisted from 53-year-old Boonchuay Thongtae, the taxi driver, who was stabbed and then run over in a robbery early Tuesday morning.
Chuanchai Thongtae, 32, and Sirirak Thongtae, 31, the victim's son and daughter, told the police that their mother had recently leased the taxi.
Mr Chuanchai, who is also a taxi driver, said Mrs Boonchuay called him at 1.25am, telling him that she just picked up a passenger from Central Ladprao and was on the way to Nakhon Chai Si district in Nakhon Pathom province.
The son said he finished work around 3am, but did not see his mother and later learned that she had been admitted to hospital.
Mrs Boonchuay is now reported to be in a stable condition, but will remain in hospital for another week or so.
