REGULATION

What will be banned from roadside stalls starting from Jan 1, 2013?

A)Children.

B)MSG.

C)Pink tissue paper.

D)Alcohol. The new rule put forth by the Health Ministry prohibits the sale of alcoholic drinks at roadside stalls, with violators facing up to six months in jail and/or fines of up to 10,000 baht. The ban on alcohol sales also applies to footpaths, public parks and public areas nationwide. The prohibition is expected to take effect on New Year's Day. No word if local authorities will be able to quash all those after-hours booze wagons set up near party zones though!

GANGNAM STYLE

Why could dancing Gangnam Style be bad for your health?

A)Because the moves are so stupid that others might beat you up.

B)Because the horse-riding motion could cause strain on your private parts.

C)Because the trend is sooooo over and your body will hate you for doing it.

D)Because a 46-year-old British man collapsed and died from a heart attack after dancing Gangnam Style at his office Christmas party. Eamonn Kilbride, an IT manager, experienced chest pains after he finished doing the dance and was pronounced dead when he arrived at the hospital from acute heart failure. Although this may be a freak accident, Professor Bernard Keavney, a cardiologist at Newcastle University, told The Daily Telegraph: "I certainly wouldn't say that people need to avoid Gangnam Style over the holidays.

[But] if you're unused to taking vigorous physical exercise, you shouldn't throw yourself into violent exertion without due preparation."

LIZARD

What name did scientists give to a newly discovered, prehistoric lizard that has tall, straight teeth?

A)Teethasaurus Rex.

B)Lil' Grillz.

C)Dentist's Delight.

D)Obamadon gracilis, in honour of President Obama. Scientists from Yale and Harvard universities combined the Latin "Obamadon" meaning "Obama's teeth" and "gracilis", which means "slender", to reflect the features of the extinct lizard. "The lizard has these very tall, straight teeth and Obama has these tall, straight incisors and a great smile," said Nick Longrich, a Yale paleontologist who helped name the reptile. The fossil of the insect-eating lizard was found in 1974, but it was only recently discovered that it was a new species.
