YALA - Insurgents destroyed closed-circuit (CCTV) security cameras and toppled electrical poles in apparently coordinated attacks Sunday night.

The Thai News Agency said attacks were reported in five districts of the southern province. Police and security agencies were still compiling lists of the damage.

CCTV cameras have become favourite targets of the insurgents of the deep South. They record street and business activity which could result in arrests or warrants against gang members.
