Sathien Dhammasathan and its Bhikkhuni College are organising the "Bhikkhuni in Two Lands" project which ordains young girls at the birthplace of Buddhism in India as well as in Thailand, planting in them the seed of Buddhist knowledge.

Registration for Bhikkhuni ordination is now open for girls.

Registration is now open. Travel to India for Bhikkhuni ordination will take place between March 30 and April 12. The ordination at Sathien Dhammasathan will be from April 13 to 22.

Held for the second year, the project aims to help protect young girls from potential suffering, after reports of increasing cases of violence and sexual abuse against young girls in Thailand.

"Ordination as a Bhikkhuni is a great undertaking. I want this ordination to be publicised everywhere or turned into a tool to inspire more women to serve the Buddhist faith," said Phra Phrom Sithi, abbot of Wat Saket Rajaworamahawiharn Region 10 and chief adviser of the Bhikkhuni ordination project.
