The power of five comes alive

Five noted musicians are pooling their talents for a night of chamber music to remember.
The ‘4G+ Quartet Chamber Music Concert’ will take place at Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok on Feb 8 at 8pm.
The Faculty of Music, Silpakorn University, presents the "4G+ Quartet Chamber Music Concert" at Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok on Feb 8 at 8pm. The concert will feature Tasana Nagavajara and Siripong Tiptan on violin, ML Usni Pramoj on viola, Kittikhun Sodprasert on cello and Yos Vaneesorn on clarinet.
They will be performing Clarinet Quintet KV 581, one of the two greatest clarinet quintets composed by Mozart, a piece which most lovers of chamber music are familiar with.
Also on the programme is String Quartet No.3 Opus 73 by Dmitri Shostakovich, widely considered the preeminent Russian composer of recent times.
Tasana has performed violin concertos with leading orchestras in Thailand and has introduced a considerable repertoire of chamber music to Thai audiences. He has been active as deputy dean of the Faculty of Music, Silpakorn University and, since 2005, director of its Summer Music School.
After joining the Conservatory of Music at Rangsit University as a violin instructor and the head of Performance and Orchestral Studies, Siripong has led the standard of strings teaching and orchestra training of the Rangsit University to a new high.
He is now the concertmaster of the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra and also a founder of the Bangkok String Quartet, the Artist Ensemble of Bangkok, and the RSU Piano Trio.
ML Usni is a Privy Councillor and national artist, as well as recipient of the Asean Award for the performing arts and an honorary doctorate of music from Silpakorn University. Today, he continues to be active as a conductor, violinist, violist, and composer.
Kittikhun is one of Thailand's most reputable and famous composers and arrangers.
He joined the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra as a founding member in 1982 and has been playing with them ever since.
Yos performs with several orchestras: as a co-principal clarinetist of Bangkok Symphony Orchestra, and a principal clarinetist of Bangkok Opera and Siam Philharmonic Orchestra.
He currently holds a teaching position at Silpakorn University.
