Some concepts are very easy to illustrate with a home-made video, either with a class or just by yourself.

For example, I wanted to illustrate one use of the present perfect while I was back home in the United States. Fortunately, it was the growing season, so all I had to do was go outside my home town and take a short video of a corn field.

“This corn was planted in early May and it's now late July, so the corn's been growing for almost three months and it should be harvested in September or October, depending on the weather.”

Obviously, this is an example of describing a period of time beginning in the past and continuing to the present.

To further understand the present perfect, read the chapter in Understanding English verb forms: The present perfect
