Diesel levy cut by 0.30 baht a litre

A meeting of the Energy Policy Management Committee on Wednesday agreed to cut the levy on diesel by 0.30 baht per litre to keep pump price for diesel below 30 baht a litre.

Energy Minister Pongsak Raktapongpaisarn said after chairing the meeting that effective from tomorrow, Feb 7, the state Oil Fund levy on the sale of diesel would be reduced from 1.10 baht per litre to 0.80 baht.

The retail price of diesel would be unchanged at 29.79 baht a litre in Bangkok and vicinity. There was no change on oil fund levies on other kinds of fuel, he added.

Mr Pongsak said after the levy cut, the oil fund red figures in financial status would be increased to 32.98 million baht a day, from 15.82 million baht.

As of Feb 3, the financial status of the oil fund was at 14.97 billion baht in red figures.
