A truck carrying furnace oil overturned at the Bang Khan intersection of Phahon Yothin Road yesterday, paralysing traffic for hours.
An oil truck lies upside down on Phahon Yothin Road’s outbound lane at Bang Khan intersection in Pathum Thani’s Khlong Luang district yesterday. The truck was transporting 30,000 litres of furnace oil to a company in Muang district of Sing Buri when it overturned in front of a petrol station. The accident caused heavy traffic congestion for several hours. PONGPAT WONGYALA
Police said the accident happened at kilometre marker No. 40 in tambon Khlong Nueng of Pathum Thani's Khlong Luang district at 5.45am.
Chamnong Promma, 51, the driver of the Dithapol Transport Co oil truck said a pickup truck cut him off, and he lost control of his vehicle.
He was transporting 30,000 litres of furnace oil to a company in Muang district of Sing Buri.
The oil truck overturned on a frontage road in front of a petrol station, and the oil flowed out of the tank onto the road.
The accident backed up outbound traffic along Phahon Yothin Highway for several hours while authorities moved the truck and cleaned up the oil slick.
