Season Two of "The Walking Dead" game could include TV characters

The first, award-winning season of "The Walking Dead" adventure game featured a selection of characters from Robert Kirkman's original comics, and the second could include those from the TV series.

"The Walking Dead" adventure game was a hit on consoles, Mac, PC and iOS.

Speaking at the 2013 DICE Summit, Telltale Games CEO Dan Connors discussed his studio's approach to writing the five episodes of "The Walking Dead" live rather than having everything planned out from the beginning.

Just like a favorite television show, he said, "being able to discuss it is as much a part of the experience as the core game itself."

Lifting from another familiar television convention, each episode begins with a recap and ends with a teaser, but "because we're interactive, everybody's 'Next Time On..' and 'Previously On' is different, based on what they did."

So what's happening next time on "The Walking Dead," when Season Two arrives? That's the question that Polygon asked Connors after his talk.

"We're talking through different scenarios, though I don't think we've talked through one where we just start with a new set of characters," he responded.

"There's nothing saying our characters couldn't cross over with [the TV show's] at some point in the timeline. It's a very interesting concept for us."
