Spanish luxury label Loewe reveals its pre-spring/summer 2013 accessories highlighting the house's two iconic bags _ Amazona and Flamenco _ plus the Paseo and the practical and functional Leo tote bag.
Famous for streamlined silhouettes and an entrancing colour palette, the label's new accessories collection is packed with minimalist designs and comes in a variety of hip shades that suit both casual and semi-formal outfits.
The classic and iconic Amazona, first introduced in 1975 with a flexible shape and unlined suede finishing, now comes in a plethora of lavish leathers and exotic skins, including the popular textured calfskin introduced this season.
The functional Flamenco, introduced in 1984 and updated by Loewe's creative director Stuart Vevers in 2011 to be more contemporary in proportion and colour, is more fun this season _ bigger and brighter in a rainbow of statement colours and luxurious material choices. The original shades and material of super-soft nappa are still available. The updated look comes with grained calfskin in metallic candy and violet, as well as magenta ostrich skin and a shiny, polished crocodile skin.
Inspired by equestrian aesthetics and baroque designs, Vevers created the Paseo mid-sized bag, whose adjustable strap recalls a horse's bridle and reigns. Made from soft buffalo leather with a suede lining, the textures give the Paseo a sensual touch. The bag is available in cream, beige, black and navy blue.
The Leo bag is made of smooth calfskin with the Loewe anagram engraved on the front. This leather tote features exposed contrast stitching detail and double top handle with top foldover snap closure. Available in different colours this season, the bag's spaciousness makes it a perfect 24-hours, seven-days-a-week accessory for women.
Other accessories include zip-around wallets, vintage anagram belts and colourful wrap leather bracelets.
Loewe boutique is on M floor of Siam Paragon (tel 02-610-9825).
