EC: 10 electoral offences reported

Ten offences of the local election law have so far been reported to the office of the Bangkok election committee, city election director Veera Yiprae said.

Mr Veera said of the 10 reported offences, eight were violations of the ban on the sale of alcoholic drinks, one case of damage to a campaign poster and one case of a voter tearing up a ballot paper.

More complaints on electoral offences can still be filed with the Bangkok election committee 30 days after the election, he said.

Mr Veera said about 100 people called the election committee's hotline number 1171 seeking information on polling units and complaining about being left off the list of eligible voters and about seeing names of other people added to their home registrations.
