Police nab 3 election law violators

Police arrested three people who broke the election law in Sunday's Bangkok governor election, deputy metropolitan police chief Adul Narongsak said.

Pol Maj-Gen Adul, the metropolitan police spokesman, identified the three as Somdej Thiansuwan, 57, Praneet Wacharin, 34, and Ngamnet Daengdee, 26.

Mr Somdej tore up the voting ballot at polling unit No 13 in Soi Matanusorn in Bang Kholaem district and Ms Praneet did likewise at polling unit No 16 at Thai Acheewasueksa School in Soi Charan Sanitwong 71 in Bang Phlat district.

Ms Ngamnet was caught while she was about to cast a ballot for her grandmother Chamlong Daengdee after having already used her own voting right. This happened at polling unit No 10 at Sala Wat Bua in Bang Khun Thian district.
