Thai Airways, SAS to codeshare

Thai Airways, SAS to codeshare

Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) and Thai Airways International (THAI) will introduce codesharing on routes between Bangkok and three Scandinavian cities during the northern summer, when SAS will not fly to Thailand.

Starting from April 8, TG will codeshare with SAS on the Bangkok-Copenhagen, Bangkok-Stockholm and Bangkok-Oslo routes.

SAS will suspend services from Bangkok from April 13 until November, then resume the normal operations, according to the airline's Bangkok office.

The airline announced earlier the suspension of its Bangkok-Copenhagen service, which has operated since 1949. It will also lay off 30 employees at the Bangkok office.

According to a report in TR Weekly, the airline anticipates resuming services to Thailand from its Copenhagen base during the northern winter season, starting November.

THAI offers daily services to Copenhagen and Stockholm and five weekly flights to Oslo, with daily flights during the northern winter.
