Pao Sarasin dies at 83

Former deputy prime minister Pao Sarasin died at Siriraj Hospital on Thursday night. He was 83.
He was admitted to the hospital last month for treatment of a blood infection.
The royal bathing rite ceremony will be held at Wat Benjamabophit at 4pm today.
Pol Gen Pao was deputy prime minister and interior minister in 1992 under the military junta and government of premier Anand Panyarachun. He was chief of police in 1987, and served as chief of the Office of the Narcotics Control Board from 1978 to 1983.
His last positons were as council president of Khon Kaen University in Khon Kaen province and Mae Fah Luang University in Chiang Rai province.
