The wife of missing Muslim human rights lawyer Somchai Neelapaijit yesterday submitted an open letter to Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra calling on her to uphold justice, human rights, and the rule of law.
Angkhana Neelapaijit, also chairwoman of the Justice Working Committee for Peace, said the letter is to mark the ninth anniversary of her husband's disappearance on March 12, 2004.
The Department of Special Investigation (DSI) had taken on her husband Somchai's disappearance as a special case. But there had been no progress in bringing the perpetrators to justice, she said.
Ms Angkhana said she wanted the premier to listen to those people who have been abused by state officers.
She said she hoped the prime minister would ensure the law is applied even-handedly.
