Italian pianist makes thai debut

Italian classical pianist Carlo Levi Minzi will be performing his first piano recital in the Kingdom at Goethe Institute Bangkok on March 22 from 8pm.

Carlo Levi Minzi will give a piano recital at Goethe Institute Bangkok on March 22 at 8pm.

A student of Enrica Cavallo, Vladimir Natanson, Paul Baumgartner and Mieczyslaw Horszowski, Levi Minzi has performed throughout Europe and the US and recorded LPs and CDs, as well as performed for several radio and television stations.

His repertoire, which ranges from Bach to modern compositions, includes the complete cycle of the Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert and Skrjabin sonatas as well as more than 50 piano concertos.

He is currently a tenured professor at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory of Music of Milan and has been a visiting professor in prestigious European and American institutions.

During the upcoming concert, he will perform Beethoven's Sonata In C Sharp Minor Opus 27 No.2 (Moonlight Sonata), Schubert's Fantasy In C Major D 760 (Wanderer-Fantasie), and Chopin's Ballade No.1 Opus 23, Ballade No.2 Opus 38, Balade No.3 Opus 47 and Ballade No.4 Opus 52.

Tickets cost 500 baht (250 baht for students) and are available at Robinson Piano Showroom at Siam Discovery (tel 02-658-1080/1) and at the door.
