Drug courier nabbed in N. Pathom

Police arrested a drug courier who was waiting to make a delivery to a customer on a roadside in Nakhon Pathom province early Tuesday.

Pol Lt Col Preecha Timhom, deputy chief of Nakhon Pathom police, said Sangwan Saengko, 33, was arrested by a police patrol which thought he was acting suspiciously about 1am Tuesday.

Mr Sangwan tried to walk away as they arrived and to hide, but he was apprehended and police searched him.

They found 45 methamphetamine pills, with an estimated street value of 13,500 baht, in the man's pants pocket.

The suspect allegedly admitted he obtained the speed pills from a dealer in Bangkok's Bang Khae district and that he planned to deliver them to a client in Nakhon Pathom.

Mr Sangwan was charged with possession and distribution of an illegal drug.
