The first Bangkok Farmers Market will take place at Four Points by Sheraton on Saturday from 8am to 2pm.

The fair is an opportunity for city dwellers to purchase organic produce, fruits, meats, eggs, baked goods, vegan and vegetarian selections, superfoods, honey, herbs, artisan crafts and agriculture products _ direct from health and eco-conscious vendors. Besides learning tips from demonstrations, aficionados will also enjoy foods cooked on-site and artisan foods prepared with ingredients sourced from local farmlands.

At 11am, Oga Sama from Harmony Life will give a presentation about his experiences growing organic produce in Thailand and teaching farmers around the country about organic and sustainable farming techniques.

NP Foods and Adams Organics will hold similar presentations.

There are also children's activities provided by Babies Genius, live music by local and expat musicians, prizes and more.

The fair is organised by the Bangkok Farmers Market Association, a non-profit organisation.

The organisation's aim is to connect organic producers with consumers directly and foster a vibrant community focused around healthy living.
