More indicted over airports seizure

Another 14 core members of the People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) have been indicted in the Criminal Court on terrorism and other charges in connection with the seizure of Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang airports in 2008.
The indictment states that on Nov 29, 2008 the defendants led a large number of PAD supporters to occupy Don Mueang and Suvarnabhumi airports in an act of terrorism aimed at the removal of the then government of prime minister Somchai Wongsawat.
The court scheduled April 29 for the first hearing.
The 14 defendants were each released on 600,000 baht bail with money from the justice fund of the Justice Ministry at the request of PAD lawyer Puangthip Boonsanong.
There are altogether 114 defendants in the case. The first group of 31, incuding Maj Gen Chamlong Srimuang and other leading members of the PAD, were indicted on March 14. Altogether 45 have been arraigned.
The rest will be indicted later by the prosecutors.
