PM: No major cabinet reshuffle

The only change pending to the cabinet will involve the Tourism and Sports Ministry, Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra said on Thursday, rejecting speculation there will be a major reshuffle of portfolios.

She declined to say when this would happen, saying that the ministry was working well enough even though a  new minister had not yet been appointed.

The post of tourism and sports minister was left vacant by the death of Chumpol Silpa-archa, the former leader of Chartthaipattana Party, on Jan 21.

Chartthaipattana spokesman Vachara Kannikar said his party is not pushing for a quick reshuffle of the cabinet .

The party would leave it to the prime minister to decide when to appoint Mr Chumpol's replacement.

There were no problems with the administration of the Tourism and Sports Ministry. Agriculture Minister Yukol Limlaemthong is concurrently taking care of it, he said.
