A marriage ceremony was held for a twin boy and girl on Friday in Kamphaeng Phet province, according to a <i>Thai Rath</i> report.
The father, Somkiat Imsomboon, 32, and the mother, Rungrat Imsomboon, 34, said their six-year-old son and daughter often fell ill and they hoped this ceremony, according to a traditional belief, will bring good health to their twin children.
About 150 people attended the event, included an elaborate merit making ceremony and a parade.
The bride price was set at 20,000 baht and four baht-weight of gold ornaments.
According to the belief, the twins were lovers in their past lives and when one of them recovered from an illness, the other became sick all of a sudden, Mr Somkiat explained.
"If we don't arrange a marriage ceremony for them, they might part ways soon," the father said.
