Master's month of dhamma

SOCIAL & LIFESTYLE

Interested Buddhist practitioners should check out the calendar and make themselves available next month as the venerable Thich Nhat Hanh and the Plum Village International Monastic Sangha are visiting Thailand with a list of interesting dhamma activities.

Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh is back to lead dhamma activities throughout April.

First up is a display of 81 pieces of his calligraphy at the "Calligraphic Meditation Exhibition" at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre from Tuesday until April 12.

The great master in the Zen Mahanaya Bhuddist tradition will also demonstrate the mindful art of calligraphy on Wednesday from 5pm to 9pm.

The Zen master will lead the "Applied Ethics Retreat" at Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University in Wang Noi district, Ayutthaya, from April 4 to 8. The retreat is designed for teachers, students and those who work closely with the younger generation. On April 9 from 5.30pm to 9pm, the peace advocate will give a public dhamma talk called "Together We Are One" at the Royal Paragon Hall of Siam Paragon. The talk aims to encourage us to be more aware of the interdependency and interconnectedness of all beings on Earth.

From April 13 to 17, there will be two five-day retreats in Nakhon Nayok, however registration for both events have now closed.

Last on the itinerary is an offering ceremony on April 28 to raise funds for the construction of the Main Meditation Hall at the Thai Plum Village International Practice Centre in Nakhon Ratchasima. This will be the last event before the venerable Thich Nhat Hanh will leave Thailand on April 30.
