HM urges open minds

His Majesty the King has called on civil servants and other officials involved in governing the country to be open-minded to different opinions.

In a royal statement released on Monday to mark Civil Servants' Day, the King said national administration involves many agencies, and conflicts resulting from people having different points of view are common.

''Civil servants working in administration as well as other parties concerned must be firm and open to different opinions and criticism, with conscious, intellectual and rational analyses,'' he said.

''Different views and criticisms should be sources for ideas and the sharing of expertise by all involved, and this will be beneficial to national administration and problem-solving,'' he said.
