His Majesty the King on Tuesday endorsed two new cabinet appointments submitted by Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra.
Agriculture and Cooperatives Minister Yukol Limlaemthong was appointed as a new deputy prime minister, while Somsak Pureesrisak became the new minister of tourism and sports.

The endorsement took immediate effect.
Both positions were left vacant on the death of Chumpol Silpa-archa in January. The slots are under the quota of the Chartthaipattana Party.
Mr Somsak is a former governor of Suphan Buri, the home province of de facto leader Banharn Silpa-archa, who is serving a political ban.
