Bangkok police seized untaxed and fake brandname products worth an estimated 500,000 baht during a raid on a house on Tuesday.
Pol Maj Surapol Yoochayantee. of Metropolitan Police division 4, police with an arrest warrant raided a house in Bang Kapi district after after investigators determined the owner, Seree Klomthong, 38, was selling untaxed and fake brandname products.
He said Mr Seree was arrested and 55 belts, 190 wristwatches, 702 pairs of sunglasses, 369 handbags, 270 purses and 277 pairs of slippers worth 500,000 baht in total were confiscated.
Pol Maj Surapol said the suspect told investigators he ordered his merchandise from the border province of Sa Kaeo and sold them in booths at various events.
He was initially charged with possessing and selling pirated and untaxed goods.
