ARTS & ENTERTAINMENT

Thai handicrafts have long been a favourite home decoration, and now they've been given a new twist.

The Support Arts and Crafts International Centre of Thailand (Sacict) will showcase a vast collection of handicrafts at the "International Innovative Craft Fair".

The works are the results of cooperation between craftsmen and professional designers at the Sacict's Prototype Product Design Gallery.

The gallery will feature more than 200 selected items which are of high craftsmanship yet are functional for everyday use.

Among the items on display are fabric products such as wall hangings, carpets, pillows, lamps, clothing and accessories, pottery for dinnerware and accessories, basketry for home decoration, and fashion ornaments such as rings, necklaces, bracelets and earrings.

The four-day fair will take place at Bitec's Hall 103 from 10am to 8pm on May 2 to 5. It will also feature art and craft products from many countries in 200 booths, as well as seminars and workshops.
