The Chinese Book and Culture2013 exhibition is running at NanMeeArt Gallery until May 26. The gallery is located on the 3rd floor of NanMeeBuilding on Sathon Road and opens on weekdays from 9.30am to 5pm. No admission charge. For more information, call 02-648-8000.

Featuring more than 100,000 books from Chinese, Taiwanese and Hong Kong publishing houses, the exhibition aims to promote Sino-Thai relations and is presented by Nan Mee Art Gallery.

There will also be more than 40 photos on display, portraying beautiful landscapes captured through quaint viewpoints.

Some of the locations are already well known among Thais but many are places that Thais have never seen or experienced before. Among the scenic spots portrayed are the pine tree on top of Mount Huang, Qomolangma Mountain, Yiheyuan Summer Palace in early spring, earth dwellings in Fujian province, scenery in Guilin, Guangxi province, Jiuzhaigou valley in Sichuan province, and Suzhou traditional gardens in Jiangsu province. Also on display is Chinese calligraphic art by Zhang Jiuhuan, the Chinese ambassador to Thailand from 2004 to 2008. He will showcase more than 80 works which include auspicious words, quotations, poems and morals that are conveyed through Chinese characters.

The works are also available for sale and all proceeds will be presented to HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.
