A rubber farmer was killed in a drive-by shooting in Yala’s Than To district on Monday night, police said.
The victim was identified as Lert Monsukrat, 42, a resident of Ban Mayaw of tambon Than To in Than To district.
Pol Lt Wasant Banluepuech, an investigator at Than To police station, said the shooting occurred about 9pm on the local road at Ban Mayaw.
No one witnessed the incident but police suspected that Lert was traveling on his motorcycle back home on the road when a gunman on another motorcycle fired on him.
Lert was shot once in his back and died on the spot.
Police were investigating.
