An Australian man plunged from the 21st floor of an apartment at Jomtien Beach in Chon Buri's Bang Lamung district early Tuesday morning, police said.
The 45-year-old man was found dead in the building's parking lot with a camera strapped to him.
Security guard Wichian Yaemmod said he noticed that the Australian appeared drunk as he was heading up to his room on the 21st floor.
Mr Wichian said he later heard a noise outside the building. He went to check and discovered the man's body on the ground.
Pol Lt Kwanchai Namkanisorn, an investigator at Pattaya police station, said a pack of anti-depressants and a mobile phone were found inside his room. There were no signs of a struggle, he added. There was a chair on the balcony.
He suspected the man either slipped while he was standing on a chair to take photos, because he was drunk, or he committed suicide because he was depressed.
