Braving the heat and the traffic, a couple prepares to pose for wedding photos in front of the sculpture of the Earth Mother Goddess near Sanam Luang, opposite the crenellated wall of the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. The Bangkok Metropolitan Authority has announced a plan to improve the landscape and promote orderly footpaths around the canal behind the Supreme Court, all the way to the iconic sculpture. This would restrict street vendors to operating from 7pm to 3am.
