The cabinet on Tuesday agreed to present Her Majesty the Queen the honorary title of "Mother and Teacher of the Land" as proposed by the Education Ministry, government spokesman Tossaporn Serirak said.
Mr Tossaporn said the Education Ministry made the proposal to mark Her Majesty the Queen's 80th birthday on August 12 of last year.
The spokesman cited Her Majesty the Queen's benevolence and contributions to the country and Thai people, particularly in the field of education, as the reason.
