Singapore big winners at Top of the Gulf Regatta

PATTAYA : The 2013 Top of the Gulf Regatta ended yesterday with Singpapore becoming the biggest winning side.

Singapore's Hi Jinks, skippered by Peiquan Chung, was undefeated and crowned champion of the IRC Racing Three. Thai team Sansiri Ooh la la, skippered by Patinyakorn Buranrom, finished second and Tai Two, skippered by Sadunori Osada, third.

In the IRC Racing One, Singapore's boat Foxy Lady, skippered by Bill Bremner, won the overall title with Thailand's Wan Marang, skippered by Kevin Whitcraft, second and David Ross' KukuKERchu third.

Australian entry Ichiban, skippered by Matt Allen, was dominant in the IRC Racing Two ahead of Royal Thai Navy 1 (second) and Souy 1 (third).

In the Platu class, Black Betty, skippered by Gary McNally, took the Coronation Cup ahead of Problem Child, skippered by Brian McMaster (second) and Andrew Moore's Tigrana (third).

Defending champion Easy Tiger IV had a tournament to forget as they finished with sixth and seventh places in the final two races to be out of contention.

David Liddell's Miss Saigon returned to winning ways with triumph in the Ocean Multihulls class. Sonic, skippered by Kirati Assakul, was second and Scott Galle's Black Swan third.
