First Waterworks College to open

Dhurakij Pundit University will join with other public and private organisations to open the first Waterworks College in Thailand.

Dhurakij Pundit University president Varakorn Samakoses said waterworks will become a significant issue in the future, when it is possible there could be a shortage of tap water. It was vital that the country educate people in this specific field.

The university will this year offer two new curriculums at bachelor degree level to provide higher education for students who chose to study in vocational schools. Courses related to waterworks will be offered in public administration science and engineering.

The university will be the core institution, pulling contributions from the Metropolitan Waterworks Authority, Provincial Waterworks Authority, Eastern Water Resources Development and Management Plc, Department of Skill Development and Department of Local Administration, he said.
