2 killed, 3 injured in gas truck accident

A 15-year-old girl and a boy aged between 15 and 18 were killed and three other people seriously injured in an accident involving a gas truck in Muang district of Nakhon Ratchasima province on Saturday night.

Pol Capt Udorn Khankaew, an investigator at Muang district police, said the accident occurred when a gas truck skidded over the road median on Nakhon Ratchasima-Chok Chai road in tambon Nonbua Sala in Muang district, collided with a motorcycle and rammed into the office of a village chief on the other side of the road.

The girl, Kritiyani Pruekkrathon, 15, of Chok Chai district, and an unidentified boy aged 15-18, who were riding the motorcycle, were killed.

The three seriously injured were identified as Chaovalit Malangsri, 25, of Nong Bua Lamphu province, Kamol Thongnok, 34, of Nakhon Ratchasima's Non Daeng district, and Nathawut Talerum, 16, of Nakhon Ratchasima's Muang district.

Two of the injured are believed to be the gas truck driver and his assistant, while the other man was sleeping in the village chief's office. They have been unable to give information, Pol Capt Udorn said.
