PATHUM THANI - A major subsidence was found on a section of Leap Klong Chonpratan Road in Lat Lum Kaeo district of Pathum Thani on Wednesday.

A subsidence two metres deep and 100 metres long was found on one side of the Rural Highway No 3020 in tambon Na Mai. The road was recently built.

Cracks could be seen on the subsided part of road.

Sorasak Sinthanadilok, an engineer at Department of Rural Roads, said water levels in Klong Chonpratan had begun to decrease and it may have caused the soil along the canal to subside. Several roads in the province also showed similar cracks, Mr Sorasak said, without elaborating.

Authorities are estimating the damage and have reported the incident to the department, he said.
