Legends get into the swing

Legacy of Legends, the Pattaya charity event promoter, is holding the "Legacy of Legends _ Manchester United Legends" black tie and sport tour in Bangkok and Pattaya from Thursday until June 12.

Past Manchester United stars Denis Irwin, Andy Cole, Clayton Blackmore and Lee Sharpe will join the tour, which consists of four events.

There will be two gala dinners, one at the Plaza Athenee Bangkok on Thursday and the other at Centara Grand Mirage Hotel in Pattaya on Saturday.

The tour also features charity golf tournaments at Riverside Golf Course in Bangkok on Friday and at the Phoenix Golf & Country Club in Pattaya on June 12.

The gala dinner at Plaza Athenee Bangkok will feature a specially created five-course menu at The Reflexions restaurant, accompanied by free-flow wine and beer.

The highlight of the evening will be a talk by the Manchester United legends, a motivational speech by Mechai Viravaidya, and top notch music and entertainment by Yves Baron Le Tenor, a classically trained singer. He is one of Thailand's great success stories, having captured worldwide attention in the classical crossover market.

The charity tournaments are an opportunity to spend the afternoon playing golf, meeting with the football legends, and have a social dinner party featuring international buffet with free flow of wine and beer. There are also hole in one prizes totalling 5 million baht to be won on par-three holes.

Tickets for the gala dinner cost 2,500 baht per person (25,000 baht per table of 10) and 500 baht per player (20,000 baht per team of four) for the golf tournament.

Part of the proceeds will go to the Mechai Viravaidya Foundation, Operation Smile, an NGO which provides cleft-lip and palate-repair surgeries to children worldwide, Women With A Mission, a private voluntary organisation, and Camillian Social Centre Rayong.
