Boy killed by rival teenage gang

A 16-year-old boy was fatally stabbed several times by a gang of teenagers at a bus stop near Kaset Nawamin intersection on Saturday night, police said.

Pol Col Charoen Srisasaluck, deputy chief of the Metropolitan Police Bureau's Division 2, said officers sent to the scene found the body of Pattarapol Kwantip, 16, lying in a pool of blood.

The teenager was stabbed once in the rib cage and five times in the back by a sharp object.

Pol Col Charoen said police went through Pattarapol's pockets and found a cell phone, 140 baht in cash and a motorcycle key.

Witnesses told police that the victim and three of his friends were running away from about 10 people believed to come from a rival gang. The victim was caught and attacked after he tripped over while running.

The teenage gang then fled in different directions after the attack, police said.
