A man was arrested with 500,000 methamphetamine pills and 40kg of ice, or crystal methamphetamine, in his possession in a raid on a house in Pang Pa-in district of Ayutthaya province on Wednesday morning.
He was identified as Kriangsak Chotipongnirund, a Thai man of Hmong origin, from Phrae province.
Pol Gen Somyos Phumphanmuang, a deputy national police chief, said the man had been under police watch for one year. He is allegedly part of a network delivering drugs from the North.
Many places in Ayutthaya, Pathum Thani, Nonthaburi and Suphan Buri provinces have long been used for storing drugs by the network before sending them on to Bangkok, he said.
