NAME

Why are many Thai parents naming their babies "Rachanon" or "Puttipat"?

A)Because it's better than the teasing they'll endure for being named "Titty-porn".

B) Because it lends itself to fun, trendy nicknames like "Moo" or "Ple".

C)Because a fortune teller predicted it would bring good luck.

D) Because these are the names of two of the most popular characters in Thai soap opera Suparbburuth Chutathep. The lakorn has sparked a baby name fad, with the Provincial Administration Department reporting that over 1,000 babies across Thailand have been given one of these two names over the past two months. The five-part soap opera, which was broadcast on Channel 3, followed five male protagonists.

JOB

What happened when a German bank employee fell asleep on his keyboard?

A) He got fired, because some people are actually fired for being incompetent.

B) He drooled all over the keyboard causing a power outage in the bank.

C) He unknowingly sleep-posted inappropriate comments on Facebook.

D) He accidentally changed what was supposed to be a 62.40 euro bank transfer to 222 million euro. The bank clerk nodded off on number 2 on the keyboard, altering the amount to 222,222,222.22 euro. Although the bank corrected the error, the case was taken to court because the employee's supervisor was fired for failing to notice the mistake. We guess the moral of this story is to fall asleep on "0" if you work with money.

YEARBOOK

Why did Hoosic Valley High School in upstate New York have to apologise for its 2013 yearbooks?

A)Because all the students used Photoshop to make their pictures look better.

B)Because the yearbook's pages gave everyone paper cuts.

C) Because they forgot to include half the graduating class.

D)Because the yearbook got printed with incorrect captions for some students, such as "Creepy smile kid", "Some tall guy" and "Isolation kid", instead of their real names. The school's acting superintendent called the incident an "honest mistake", claiming that the yearbook staff weren't able to identify all the pupils, so they put in made-up monikers. The school will fix the error.
