The cabinet on Tuesday approved a Defence Ministry proposal to buy an Airbus A320 aircraft for use in shuttling very important persons, a cabinet source said.
The aircraft will cost 3.4 billion baht, a price which also will include a hangar to park the airliner.
The proposal was made at the request of the air force, which will maintain the aircraft and provide crews.
