PATTAYA - An elderly Swiss man has been arrested for sexually abusing children below the age of 13, according to a media report on Wednesday.
In 2012, Gaston Maurer, 62, allegedly paid a homosexual, known only as Arunee, to bring young boys to him for sex on two separate occasions.
According to the Pattaya Provincial Court, the suspect's action is considered a crime even if the boys voluntarily accepted the man's offer.
Mr Maurer was apprehended as he returned a motorbike to a rental shop on Tuesday night. He had been scheduled to fly home on Wednesday.
Police reported that they found Mr Maurer's passport, a lubricant and a used condom inside the man's hotel room and seized them as evidence.
