A dead baby boy aged 5-6 months was found in a garbage bag abandoned in front of a busy cinema in Mahachai district of Samut Sakhon early Saturday morning.
The body was found by Somporn Pradutong, a 50-year-old garbage collector for Samut Sakhon municipality, said Pol Lt Jamnong Neoykham, a duty officer at the Muang district police station.
Mr Somporn told police that he was collecting garbage bags from in front of the Mahachai Cinema and discovered the body later when he and his colleagues were sorting the garbage at a nearby temple. He then alerted the police.
Forensic police estimated the baby had been dead for no more than 24 hours. The police are looking for the person who dumped the baby, Pol Lt Jamnong said.
