Cavani set for PSG medical on Monday

Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani is expected to undergo a medical on Monday as he completes his move to French champions Paris Saint-Germain from Serie A side Napoli, according to Italian media.

Uruguayan striker Gomez Edinson Roberto Cavani plays for Napoli in January 20, 2013 in Florence. Cavani is expected to undergo a medical on Monday as he completes his move to French champions Paris Saint-Germain from Serie A side Napoli, according to Italian media.

Cavani will then reportedly sit down with PSG sporting director Leonardo and other club representatives to finalise the remaining details of the transfer before signing a five-year contract that will reportedly net him 10 million euros annually.

The transfer fee, thought to be worth around 63 million euros, would be a new Ligue 1 record, eclipsing the 60 million euro sum paid by Monaco for Colombian forward Radamel Falcao.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis fired a parting shot on Sunday at Cavani, who topped the Serie A goalscoring charts with 29 goals last season, saying the striker "was thinking only of money".

He also claimed that Zlatan Ibrahimovic would not stay at the Parc des Princes next season, saying: "Ibrahimovic won't play with Cavani, he has already been promised to others."
