Patchajutar beat Amercian Michelle Shin on the third play-off hole after they were level on nine-under-par 207 after three rounds at the par-72 Beaver Meadow Golf Course.

"I was so excited during the play-off and really glad to win," said Patcharajutar, who took a two-shot lead after two rounds and shot a final-round 71.

"This one is for my mum who has been always supporting me," she said. "This week, my wedge worked well."

With the winner's cheque of US$15,000 for her first win in the US, Patcharajutar moves up from 15th to 3rd on the money list with US$32,323.

With the top 10 players on the list earning automatic places on the LPGA Tour next year, she is confident she can seal her place, with five tournaments left to play.

"I am confident I can make it," she said. "But to make sure I will achieve that, I need to earn about US$40,000."

This week, she will play at the Credit Union Classic in New York on July 26-28.

Last year, the golfer who finished 10th on the money list earned US$ 37,632.
