Kiradech invited to play at Oak Hill

Thai ace Kiradech Aphibarnrat has earned an invitation to play at the PGA Championship on Aug 8-11.

Kiradech, who missed the cut at his major debut last week's British Open, was on Monday confirmed to participate at the PGA Championship, the final major of the year.

Kiradech will join compatriot Thongchai Jaidee, who earlier received an invitation. Both of them earned their invitations as players in the world's top 100: Thongchai is No.58, Kiradech is No.90.

The US$8 million tournament will be held at the Oak Hill Country, East Course in Rochester, New York.

To warm up for the tournament, Kiradech will play at next week's WGC-Bridgestone Invitation in Ohio. He is eligible to play at the non-cut, US$ 8.75 million event thanks to his win at the Malaysian Open earlier this year.

Thongchai stands a chance to join him at the Firestone Country Club if he moves into the world's top 50 when the next set of rankings are released next week.
