Liverpool beat Thailand 3-0

Liverpool ended their pre-season tour with a comfortable 3-0 win over Thailand in a friendly at Rajamangala National Stadium on Sunday evening.

Philippe Coutinho, who played central striker, gave the Reds the lead when he skipped through multiple Thai players before calmly tucking the ball into the corner of the net in the 16th minute.

Four minutes after half-time, Iago Aspas made it 2-0 before Steven Gerrard added the third goal in the 59th minute by chipping the ball over the Thai keeper Sintaweechai Hathairattanakul.

The Reds secured two 2-0 wins against an Indonesia XI and Melbourne Victory in their first two stops of the tour of the Far East and Australia. They will return home after Sunday's match.

Most of the Thai players are from the SEA Games (under-23) team which will take part in this year's tournament in Myanmar in December.

The 50,000-seat National Stadium was almost packed with Liverpool fans.

Liverpool drew 1-1 against Thailand on its most recent previous visit in 2009.
